This Grade 1 lot was produced by Habebe Hewiso. A smallholder farmer in Bona Zuria, Habebe has benefited from the training and support provided by Sucafina Ethiopia through the Lalisaa project. Lalisaa, meaning “flourishing”, empowers 97 farmers across Ethiopia, providing education and resources as well as shortening the supply chain to connect farmers directly with roasters. The program has enabled him to improve the cultivation, harvesting and processing practices across his 3 hectare farm. Cherries for this lot were carefully handpicked and sorted before drying slowly on raised beds over 23-28 days. This, combined with the high elevations and exceptional growing conditions of the Sidamo region have contributed to the outstanding fruit forward and floral complexity in the final cup.
